Premier League match week 33: “Accidently World-class”

This week both the Sam’s suffered crushing defeats. Man City takes control of the league as Palace and Villa hand Liverpool and Arsenal massive losses. Newcastle find themselves right back in the hunt for Europe by manhandling Spurs. Don’t look now, can Chelsea sneak into Europe after beating Everton 6-0. DU does English Football League: Episode 36

The Sam’s open with a change at the top of the championship as Leicester won Leeds lost and Ipswich lost in the Old Farm Derby 1-0 to Norwich. Portsmouth is getting closer and closer to not just promotion but winning League 1, while Carlisle United gets the dubious distinction of being the first club relegated in all of professional football. Mansfield lost badly in League 2, and despite being around the top all season they now find themselves outside the automatic promotion spots now.

Premier League match week 32 “An Overly Arrogant Brazilian”

This week the Sam’s open with the bottom of the table where both Luton and Everton won… wait Everton won, why yes they did. The Northwest Derby sees Liverpool now trailing Arsenal in the table. Premier League match week 31 “Hot Fire”

English Premier League Midweek games did not disappoint, and Chelsea Man U was wild. The whole week had a lot of early goals, Phil Foden got a hat trick over Villa, Arsenal got a chance to rest for a week with an easy win over Luton, Forest finally showed up at home, the Cherries stay on A roll, and the nil-nil match was entertaining.  Unfortunately, we can't go a week without talking about points deductions.

DU does English Football League: Episode 35

The Championship completely flipped the script this week as Ipswich leap-frogged everyone into first place. Three teams are separated by a point each. League 1 could be decided this week as Pompey gets ready to host Derby, it would seem the playoff is mostly decided too. In League 2 Stockport has moved back into 1st as Wrexham beat Mansfield but it’s looking like all three are heading to automatic promotion.

Premier League match week 30 “Mo Patience”

This week the Sam’s open with the match everyone had their eye on, Newcastle and West Ham! I know everyone thought it would be City and Arsenal, but we also talked about Fulham’s shootout with the Blades before that too. Another match for Everton and another shot of Malort for big Sam. Villa continues their hold on fourth despite Spurs getting a come-from-behind win over Luton.

It was limited matches throughout the EFL as international duty affects teams in the championship and League 1 but that’s not gonna stop the Sam’s from talking about League 2. They also take a moment to catch up on the National League along with the north and south divisions to see how some of the darlings of the FA Cup did. Also, a few surprising clubs have dropped into the lower non-leagues.

International Break Special: FFP & PSR & SAHFTL

No matches in the Prem but it doesn’t mean the league didn’t give the Sam’s something to talk about. Forest received their point deduction, and Everton faces their second charge as Leicester has now been charged too. What does all of this mean, hell if the Sam’s know but they sure as heck talk about it. What does this mean for other clubs and the league? Could this push the Big 6 to a “super league”?

DU does English Football League: Episode 33

Leeds take over the top spot in the Championship as the Foxes, the Tractor Boys and the Saints are all in striking distance. Pompey continues to lead at the top of League 2 as it would seem only Derby is in the hunt. League 2 says Tranmere beat 1st and 3rd place in the same week as Forest Green got themselves out of the drop in the mid-week to find themselves back in the drop by the weekend.

Premier League match week 29 “At some point somebody should punch a horse”

This week the Sam’s open with Luton Towns roller coaster of a week. Losing to Bournemouth, drawing Forest, and then seeing Forest get a points deduction. The FA Cup was fantastic as Coventry advance to the semis, City and Chelsea advance but the Northwest Derby was a banger of a match as Man U beat Liverpool.
