Premier League matchweek 20: “all things being fair and balanced”

This week Sam, Nicole, and Hiram opened with the Northwest Derby where Liverpool didn’t have their best day but still managed a point. Was this the turning point for Manchester United, or was it just a flash like the City victory? 15-18th has gotten much tighter as Ipswich has been on a roll and Everton’s inability to score has gotten bad. Big Ange has a cryptic and repetitive response to Spur’s loss and Forest just keeps rolling.

This week Geckle and Hiram sit in for Graham as we open with Liverpool's domination and Chelsea’s shocking loss, much to Hiram’s dismay. Forest and Newcastle are in stunning form as Big Sam has to bring in the new year with a shot of Malort. Fulham and Bournemouth had a sneaky entertaining match and the crew tries to avoid talking about Arsenal as much as possible. The Whisky Advocate Top 20 list continues with #17 the Brewers Collection Gingerbread Stout Finish from Northern Virginia Distilling.

Premier League matchweek 18 “Manchester is Burning”

This week, Big Sam and Producer Mel are joined by Alan and Nicole in studio, because Graham awaits child number four. Since both routes for Newcastle and Villa, it was only proper to open with their one-sided match while having a “spirited discussion” over Duran’s sending-off. Fulham got a big win in the WLD and Forest still is 4th place. The Manchester clubs are burning, and they are all here for it.

DU does English Football League: Episode 16

Highlights from the rest of the English Football League.
The top 6 in the championship saw very few changes as Leeds’s big win only changed the goal differential. At the bottom Portsmouth’s big win has moved them out of the drop. Birmingham City’s win has pushed them back to the top of Lg 1 as Wycombe and Wrexham are on their heels. Walsall has opened a 6-point lead on the rest of League 2 and the semifinals are set for the league cup.

Premier League matchweek 17 “The Airing of the Grievances”

The Sam’s begin with the troubles facing the Manchester clubs.  City and United suffered defeats against Mel’s Aston Villa and the ever-surprising Cherries of Bournemouth.
Meanwhile, Arsenal and Liverpool netted a flurry of goals, and Palace and Tottenham also managed to score.  Isak achieved his first Premier League hat trick for Newcastle, and the wind proved to be a more captivating story than the dull Everton vs Chelsea match.

Highlights from the rest of the English Football League.
Leeds take over the top spot in the Championship as the Foxes, the Tractor Boys, and the Saints are all in striking distance. Pompey continues to lead at the top of League 2, as it would seem only Derby is in the hunt. League 2 says Tranmere beat 1st and 3rd place in the same week as Forest Green got themselves out of the drop mid-week to find themselves back in the drop by the weekend.

It was a great weekend in English Premier football, so catch up on every match with the DU Football Shiow. This week, the Sam’s open with two surprise Derby results: Palace and United won massively. There were some crazy fun matches to watch this weekend as Fulham and Liverpool drew and Forest shocked Villa late, leaving producer Mel with a shot of Malört. The Sam’s were safe with a draw but was their match even worth discussing? We also saw two managers fired this weekend. Highlights from the rest of the English Football League.
The bottom of the Championship sees 17th to 24th separated by a handful of points. The top's only change was Leeds moving into 2nd. Wycombe, Wrexham, and Birmingham City are separated by a single point in League 1 while the rest of the top half is filled with familiar clubs. Finally, in League 2 Walsall defeated Port Vale 1-0 to take the top spot. The Sam’s regrettably decided to try “Green Lanterns”, Aviation Gin, and Mountain Dew!

The Sam’s opened with a bad day at the office for the Manchester clubs as both dropped points. The Foxes and the Cherries bit had late match comebacks in matches where Brighton and Ipswich were seemingly in control. Brentford and Chelsea kept scoring goals, while Arsenal and Villa had snoozer matches. The boys enjoy a special bottle, the William Larue Weller edition 2024 from the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection.

The Sam’s open with the barn burner at St. James Park as Liverpool drops points, and Newcastle, sitting in 12th, finds itself only 3 points back from 5th. Arsenal reminds Man United they still have a ways to go under new management. Palace, Leicester, and Everton get big wins at the bottom, and City finally breaks its losing streak. The Sam’s enjoy separate drams since the show was being zoomed in.
