Premier League matchweek 5: ”Wolves Have No Natural Predator”
Friday Sep 02, 2022
Friday Sep 02, 2022
The Sam’s are called into double duty this week as there were mid-week matches. Liverpool won at the death, the teams at the bottom are digging themselves a bigger whole. Arsenal remains perfect and Haaland scores another hat trick for City. The boys are over zoom and each drinking their own whiskey, some more than the other. This show is long and goes off the rails, as it’s Graham’s annual drunken transfer recap. It is exactly what it says it is Graham drinks, a lot… I mean a whole lot, like way more than normal. Then he proceeds to read the list of all the comings and goings of the prem as Huston tries to wrangle him in and keep Graham to task. This section is after the regular show if you do not want to listen, you’ve been warned. It is a drunk guy reading a list of names.

This week the Sam’s open with goals… lots of goals, like 9 of them and it wasn’t Southampton. City and Liverpool hammer both Palace and Bournemouth respectively. The north London clubs occupy 2 spots in the top 3 as neither have lost. Oh-So didn’t offer much as frankly, the matches were dull. No fear, the Sam’s found plenty to joke about.
They enjoyed a little Westward Pinot Noir finished American Single Malt.

This week the Sam’s open with the instant classic between Newcastle and Man City, along with Arsenal's rise to top of the league and Leeds amazing victory over Chelsea. They welcome their good friend Nicole into the studio who’s “exploring her options” as to choosing a club. There were a couple of Derby’s as Man U and Fulham took care of Liverpool and Brentford. Only producer Mel found herself partaking in Malort this week. They all enjoyed the Stout finish from Westward American Single Malt.

Monday Aug 15, 2022
This week the Sam’s open with a hearty laugh as Brentford embarrassed Man United 4-0 and Forest get their first premier league win in 23 years. They also look each other in the eyes as they discuss the Spurs/Chelsea draw along with Arsenal win and Palace’s draw at Liverpool. Big Sam had to endure some Malört but he at least got to enjoy it with a Whopper with Pope (apparently it’s how the kids like it) and they discuss all the action from this weekend’s Prem. This week we are sipping on Westward American Single Malt because whiskey needs to be back in our lives!

The Prem is back and the Sam are both at the beach!!! But no vacation is going to hold them back as they took time out to chat about the first week. They open with the newly promoted sides as Bournemouth won, Fulham drew Liverpool and Nottingham Forest couldn’t manage a single shot on goal. Next they discuss the complete opposite directions the two Manchester clubs are going in City dominate with new signing Erling Haaland and United are a mess losing to Brighton yet again. As the Sam’s are at different beaches they had separate drinks. Big Sam enjoyed Chattanooga Rye Malt and Graham had a spicy Margarita with El Jimador.

The TED LASSO Special
Friday Aug 05, 2022
Friday Aug 05, 2022
Sam Huston, Sam Graham, Producer Mel and our Charm City Gooner friend Simon, chat about the first two seasons of Ted Lasso. Unarguably the show has become a cultural phenonium. How did a commercial become one of the most sincere, amusing, and entertaining shows on television? The gang discusses how it compares to footy, what their favorite (and least favorite) episodes are, what they hope for season 3 and more.
Grab a drink, and enjoy!

The 20 clubs supporters show preview of the Prem
Tuesday Aug 02, 2022
Tuesday Aug 02, 2022
This week is a long one but a good one, the Sam’s do their 20 clubs preview super show as they chat with supporters for most the clubs from all over the world (yes, we aren’t joking). It’s a lovely overview of the entire league with all our closest supporters and it’s the comprehensive breakdown of each club… their signings and departures and expectations on the season. Tons of #Bantz.. the Sam’s go back to drinking whisky (minus the e) as they enjoy a rare single barrel pick from Glenallachie a 13 year barrel proof from Scotland.

Getting to Know Nottingham Forest F.C. “the Hipster Club”
Tuesday Jul 26, 2022
Tuesday Jul 26, 2022
This week the Sam’s chat with Mark a Nottingham Forest supporter originally from England but now in Austin. Forest much like Austin was made for hipsters. The boys have a great chat from the days of back-to-back European Titles (shocker that gets mentioned) to the present-day spending spree. They “gin binge” continues with Benham’s Sonoma County gin and fever tree tonic.

Getting to Know Bournemouth “The giggles”
Tuesday Jul 19, 2022
Tuesday Jul 19, 2022
This week the Sam’s continue their “Getting to know you” series with Zack who supports AFC Bournemouth. They discuss all thin Cherries and how a truly small club has made it back to the premier league, continue to grow the academy and the plan to stay up. The Sam’s also really want Zack to be their laugh track for all shows. They enjoyed a classic Gin and Tonic with Plymouth Gin and Jack Rudy’s Tonic Syrup.

Getting to Know Fulham “We brought a charcuterie board”
Tuesday Jul 12, 2022
Tuesday Jul 12, 2022
The Sam’s are back and it’s time for “getting to know you” as they chat with supporters of each of the newly promoted clubs. First up their good buddy Jason with one of the Big Sam’s favorite supporters groups Fulham in the South (FITS for short). Fulham are back with a vengeance as they sliced through the Championship due, in part, to Mitro’s record setting 43 goals. The big question is have they done enough to improve the side to stave of relegation or will they yo-yo yet again. The boys bring back the gin binge with Citadel Jardin D’ete gin with Betty Buzz tonic water.

DU Football Show
A weekly recap of the English Premier League, as told by two bias Americans, who are also liquor experts.
Sam Huston and Sam Graham break down every match and every team on Tuesdays, with a drink in hand. Every week they will introduce to you to a new whiskey or spirit.
It's like talking footy in the pub with your friends.
