Tuesday Nov 08, 2022
Tuesday Nov 08, 2022
It was a great weekend of Premier League matches. The Sam’s open the show with the crazy comeback by Leeds at Elland Road over Bournemouth and the cage match that was Villa stomping Man United. Finally, the Foxes have turned their fortunes and got another shutout victory. The Sam’s enjoy a whiskey from Whisky Advocate's Top 20 of 2022, the Andalusia Stryker Single Malt.

This week Sam’s start with a pair of big upsets with Leeds and Brighton knocking off Liverpool and Chelsea. Producer Mel finds herself doing Malört again as her Villa got trounced by Newcastle and someone actually hit their bet. The Sam’s enjoy a Sauternes finish Rye whiskey from Hillrock this week.

This week the Sam’s open with a reversal of fortunes for the Merseyside clubs; Liverpool suffers an embarrassing defeat and Everton has a convincing win at home. Villa and the Foxes get 4-0 shutouts, and the top of the table takes shape. Arsenal still holds on to the top spot, but Man City is sneaking closer. Finally, Newcastle claims its place in the top four as they beat Spurs and Chelsea and Man U draw. This go around the Sam’s quickly recap the midweek matches that for the most part were quite boring. Heck, the last scoreless draw between Brentford and Chelsea was the most exciting match. Not that it was minus the drama, with CR7 walking off the pitch and Stevie G getting axed.
The boys enjoy a single barrel from Westward clocking in at 129 proof, while a special quest reminds us to drink responsibly.

The Sam’s get right into Liverpool’s stunning win over City that also opened a four-point lead at the top for Arsenal after they win at Leeds. Chelsea and Man U are fighting for European places but with the unfamiliar faces of Newcastle, Brighton and Brentford. Big Sam and Producer Mel both get stuck with Malört shots as Villa and Everton lose.

“Exploring One’s Soccuality”: The search for a club to support
Tuesday Sep 27, 2022
Tuesday Sep 27, 2022
This week the Sam’s don’t have any prem action to discuss, because the players were away on international duty, so we welcomed our good friend Nicole back into the studio to discuss the search for a club of her own. This round of “Exploring One’s Soccuality”: the search for a club to support. This round of dating is down to Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Brentford, Wolverhampton, and Nottingham Forest. Nicole realizes one team may be very easy to look at but their footy is hard to watch. She says farewell to that club with her first shot of Malort.
At least she had the Adnams Rye Malt to wash away the bad taste as the boys found the final missing piece of the Whisky Advocate 2019 list for the Top 20 Whiskeys.
Whose Kit will she wear next year? Stay tuned.

”The Whole System is Corrupt” Premier League matchweek 6
Tuesday Sep 06, 2022
Tuesday Sep 06, 2022
So much happened over the weekend! The Merseyside Derby more than delivered, despite the lack of goals. Mel’s Villa earned a scrappy point with City, but unfortunately the attention is once again VAR. Bad officiating caused over half a dozen incidents, which affected outcomes, like Newcastle and West Ham, who were robbed of goals. Speaking of goals, Brentford, Leeds, Bournemouth, Forest, Brighton, and Leicester accounted for 19 of them. Big Sam surprises Graham with the Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond which was #4 from the Whiskey Advocate Top 20 from 2019.
